Allison Schmitz graduated from Rockhurst University with her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2011 before beginning her pediatric OT career at Children’s Therapy TEAM. In addition to her work with children in Northwest Arkansas she has international experience with assessment and treatment of children with special needs in Ukraine, Guatemala and Saint Lucia. While she is an active local community volunteer, she also has a particular passion for serving internationally in an effort to improve the lives of children living in orphanages. To this end she is a strong supporter of the TEAMworks non-profit. Allison enjoys working with a variety of diagnosis, but has additional interests in neurological disorders and brachial plexus injuries. In her spare time, Allison loves to be outdoors with camping, canoeing, and hiking.
She has gained advanced training in Kinesiotaping Methods, Torticollis treatment, Beckman Oral Motor Protocol Assessment and Intervention, Pediatric Neurology, and attended AOTA National Conference in 2013 for additional training in Constraint Induced Therapy, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Adaptive Classroom Equipment for kids with special needs.
