Children’s Therapy TEAM now has two veteran PT’s that are Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialists. Christina Ruby found out in June that she passed her Pediatric Clinical Specialist exams. Members of our TEAM family were on hand for a surprise celebration. Christina and Merilee Booker, Children’s Therapy TEAM’s Director of Research and Knowledge Translation, are among select company in Arkansas. There are only a handful of Physical Therapists who hold the Pediatric Clinical Specialist credential in the state.
The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certifies individuals as clinical specialists who have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in physical therapy specialty areas. Pediatrics is one of eight specialty areas in which the ABPTS currently offers certification. The ABPTS notes, “The highest quality of physical therapy is provided by therapists who attain and maintain certification in a specialty area.”
