Jordan+Pfeifer+OT+2015Jordan Pfeifer initially became interested in occupational therapy while supporting a childhood friend receiving treatment at the Omaha Children’s Hospital. In sharing about her love of pediatrics, Jordan notes, “When a child reaches their goals I”m not only helping them in this moment, but I’m setting them up to be able to reach even greater goals later in life.” Pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatric occupational therapist, Jordan completed a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Rockhurst University (2015). Her fieldwork experience includes serving at the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired as well as shadowing at the NICU at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Expanding on her focus in pediatrics, Jordan’s capstone research project included a program efficacy study on sensorimotor early childhood themes.

Service, outreach and volunteerism have always been a central part of Jordan’s missionary spirit. To this end, she served as the President of the Student Occupational Therapy Association (Rockhurst, 2013-2014) and completed a service fieldwork rotation in Guayaquil, Ecuador. There, she co-treated with PT students at the Damien House, dedicated to treatment of individuals with Hansen’s Disease (historically called Leprosy).

Jordan will be wearing red during Children’s Therapy TEAM’s Team Spirit Thursdays, though it won’t be Razorback red. Having completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, she shares, “I will forever be a Nebraska Cornhusker.” She is also a supporter of the KC Royals. Jordan enjoys spending time with friends, traveling and watching movies.
