The competition is simple, the therapist whose jar has the most money “wins” a pie in their face during the Pulled Pork Dinner Fundraiser and Block Party Bash this Friday night. Adding a whole new meaning to “taking it for the TEAM,” a dozen brave therapists are participating in the competition aimed at raising funds for TEAMworks outreach in Guatemala.
The Children’s Therapy TEAM Fayetteville Parking lot will be blocked off for the festivities while a member of Children’s Therapy TEAM’s PT TEAM, Wade Cunningham, dishes-up delicious pulled pork meals. Children’s Therapy TEAM PT and TEAMworks Therapist Alyssa Parkhill is excited about the joy she has seen among TEAM kids over the last two weeks and preparations for the event have been in full swing. She notes,
“Many of our kids are absolutely giddy about the unfathomable spectacle of one of their therapists getting slimed by a pie. Seeing their enthusiasm has been so much fun.”
Kelly Yates, a Children’s Therapy TEAM OT and member of the coordinating TEAM shared, “What could be better? We are raising funds to support a life-changing cause, taking a night off preparing dinner and having fun! Each $6 meal served will include pulled pork complete with chips, baked beans, a drink and cookie. A wonderful meal and some really fun entertainment. The big reveal of the pie in the face competition winner will definitely make the highlight reel.”
