For over 30 years, Marietta Baltz has been involved in issues related to the care and education of young children in Arkansas. Marietta received her Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Arkansas. One of her greatest passions in the field of early childhood development is the benefit of offering children opportunities to grow and develop in natural outdoor settings. Marietta is a member of the Southern Early Childhood Association, Arkansas Early Childhood Association and the National Family Child Care Association. She has served on the Traveling Arkansas Professional Pathway (TAPP) steering committee, where she chaired a committee to develop early childhood competencies for the care and education of young children. She also served on a committee to develop the Arkansas educational guidelines and benchmarks for infants and toddlers. She is a board member of the Northwest Arkansas Family Child Care Association. Marietta is retired from the University of Arkansas Early Care and Education Projects, where she was the training advisor for the statewide Child Care Orientation Training (CCOT). She currently serves as training advisor for the Family Child Care Provider (FCCP) Training. As an advocate for children, Marietta is also a VIRTUS certified facilitator on the prevention of child sexual abuse.
