Amanda Wherry is a local and international advocate for individuals and families with disabilities. She spent nearly 7 years in a remote area in central Asia developing a hospital pediatric therapy program with teaching in physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as NICU therapy. Having worked at Children’s Therapy TEAM before serving in central Asia, Amanda never lost touch with her TEAM family. She was welcomed back to Children’s Therapy TEAM when she returned to the United States in 2015. Locally, Amanda is active in New Heights Church’s Disability Ministry in Northwest Arkansas. Originally from the small town of Fair Grove, Missouri, Amanda left Missouri to pursue her Master’s in Occupational Therapy at Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO (2001-2004). In her breaks from her studies, Amanda enjoyed CSU’s close proximity to foothill mountain trails with opportunities for mountain biking and snowboarding. When not immersed in providing direct pediatric therapy care or her advocacy work, Amanda enjoys reading, playing guitar, being outdoors in Northwest Arkansas and traveling.
